Main Responsibilities
- To survey and do work so that it is carried out as efficiently as possible. To ensure that work orders are well defined from the SOR’s in order to allow the workforce to determine the work required.
- Monitoring performance standards, ensuring that work is completed to the required standard and within the required timescale. Notifying and discussing a range of issues and to agree and monitor through formal appraisals and other more informal methods, provide constructive feedback and support as necessary. Identifying training needs as required.
- Ensuring that materials are appropriate, and also, these are effectively utilised, and that best value is achieved in their purchase. Ensure that materials can be quickly accessed when required to avoid any delay in the completion of work.
- To carry out WIP and pre-& post inspections for maintenance works, ensuring that any defective works are rectified, and our quality standards are maintained. Ensure that an effective audit trail is in place. To cover other work areas as and when required to ensure that the business is maintained.
- Work closely with the Health and Safety Adviser and Coordinator to ensure that safe systems of work are in place to mitigate risks and that the requirements of Health and Safety legislation are met.
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
- Carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the business’s equal opportunities policies.
- There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
Accountability
- Day to day performance and quality control of Electric in designated Business Plan Areas / visible performance ensuring that targets and KPI’s are met.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in all aspects of the Electrical repairs and testing service, resolving issues and managing complaints to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Cover the out of hours emergency, call out function for Electrical works to ensure that emergencies are quickly attended to.
- Understand and implement the aims of the business and demonstrate a personal passion for making a difference. Go the extra mile to deliver high quality results on time and develop continual improvements to the service for the benefit of our customers.
- Provide support and cover across the business when required, ensuring that the service is maintained.
- Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
- Co-operate with the business in complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post.
- Liaise with the Schedulers, Customer Access team, Operatives and other responsibilities regarding the DRS system i.e. ordering materials, looking at larger jobs and operatives’ availability etc.
